Benefits of High Frequency Table Top Unit

A High Frequency treatment is becoming a more popular addition to a full-spectrum facial. But what is it?

High Frequency wands send electricity through inert gasses in a glass electrode, emitting a humming warmth that when applied to the skin can kill bacteria and promote regeneration. After just a few passes of the wand, you’ll begin noticing the effects: increased collagen production, a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, and the glow that comes from increased blood circulation.

The HF wand is also very effective in treating acne, as the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of the heat generation greatly increase skin cleanliness and health. Skin treated with a High Frequency treatment will be clear, clean, and more apt to accept deep massage, lotions, or other facial treatments.

  • Safely kills acne-causing bacteria
  • Minimizes inflammation and redness
  • Prevents future breakouts
  • Removes dirt that enlarges pores
  • Oxygenates the skin
  • Increases circulation

This table top unit comes with three special electrode heads, for different areas of the face:

  • Acne Electrode – A pointy surface for targeted treatments. Aim it at stubborn blemishes, acne, wrinkles or scars to see a benefit. The small surface area focuses the heat directly at trouble spots, bringing more cleaning power to bear where it is needed.
  • Spoon Head Electrode – Perfect for under the eyes and against the lymph nodes, wherever you need a softer touch. The “medium” electrode works well around curves or against stubborn wrinkles.
  • Mushroom Head Electrode – For broader areas, a larger base will provide more coverage. Any space that doesn’t need specific attention can be treated with the mushroom head electrode. Cover more ground across the cheeks, forehead, or neck with the mushroom head electrode.

How To Administer A High Frequency Facial

The High Frequency Table Top Unit is extremely easy to use. It can be applied directly to a clients face, or with a ¼ inch thick piece of gauze between the skin and the glass electrode.

  1. Prepare the clients face by washing it or administering a steam treatment. Then turn on the electrode, adjusting the strength of the current with the twisting dial on the table top unit.
  2. Glide the electrode over your clients face in a circular motion. Start with the forehead, then move to the nose, the cheeks and the chin with the mushroom electrode. Turn off the current before switching out glass electrodes to move to different parts of the face.
  3. Use the spoon electrode on sensitive areas, such as under the eyes, above the lips, and under the chin. Be sure to maintain skin contact on these areas.
  4. You can focus-treat problem areas such as individual pimples by “sparking” the spot with the tip of the acne electrode. You “spark” the HF wand by gently removing the electrode from the client’s face, creating an arc. This will temporarily increase the power of the HF. Do this sparingly, only when needed.
